Professional Statement
Satchel Harry, PA-C, chose a career in medicine because he wanted to help others. "Our health impacts every aspect of our lives," he says. He feels his most important role is to provide patients with education, information and options so that they can make informed decisions about their health.

Satchel uses the most clinically supported and up-to-date evidence to guide his medical decisions. "I always try to tailor my practice to each individual patient by considering their spiritual, economical and cultural beliefs to provide the most well-rounded care," he says. When asked about his philosophy of care he described it as "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Small changes can lead to extraordinary results," he says.

Satchel earned a bachelor's degree in biology from Northern Arizona University and a master's degree in physician assistant studies from University of South Alabama.

Raised in Oregon, Satchel enjoys taking advantage of the outdoor opportunities that the Pacific Northwest provides. However, he enjoys nothing more than spending time with his friends and family inside on a rainy day.

Satchel Harry is awesome! Other than my PCP Dr [...], Satchel is by far the best medical care provider I have have seen. He's very kind, knowledgeable & really listens! He explains things well & is respectful of my needs & feelings. He's super relaxed & makes you feel like you're important enough not to rush through to get on to his next patient. He's an excellent Physicians Assistant!Great bedside manner!

My focus is being able to play my woodwind instrument - mentioned I have performances coming up. X-Ray results were generalized by radiologist, but no follow up from provider. I did just a few hours ago send a follow up to visit message.

First I saw Satchel. Then I got a voicemail from someone with instructions following an X-ray. Then I got a call from someone else with the same information and then I had a recheck with Dr. [...]. Everyone was great but it was my first experience with a team. It will take some getting used to.

This provider did not speak clearly and loudly enough for a senior to comfortably hear. He did not heed my request to listening to my lower lung area where the original diagnosis of pneumonia was heard. He did not seem engaged with my reason for being there.

I dislike the fact that I have a primary care provider who I can never get into see when I have an unexpected problem arise. This has happened to myself and my husband both. What's the purpose of having a PCP ?

The dr was very kind and spent a lot of time with me. I didn't get a referral at the time of visit because I didn't need one at that point. He was very engaging, and definitely eased my mind that my condition was nothing critical, which eased my concerns.

My only callout is, due to it being a Friday, I wasn't notified when my strep culture came back negative, so I spent the weekend in a lot of pain and not getting better, not knowing I needed additional care to figure out what was really wrong.

Satchel Harry ordered tests right away. I did have other health concerns while in the office but had been told in the past that I should only talk to the providers about one health concern at a time. [...] I did speak of a constant pain m my back that bothers me constantly, but the only concern seemed to be for my gastrointestinal areas.

There was a mixup on scheduling, my provider was not available when I showed up for my appointment so I saw Dr. satchel as he had time available.
