Professional Statement
Following an injury in high school, Jon Hartinger, DO, was inspired by his family physician to enter the medical field. "I was interested in helping patients with a similar approach," he says. "Family medicine allows me to build relationships with patients and their families, while incorprating my interests in sports medicine and osteopathic manipulative medicine." As a physician, Dr Hartinger believes his most important role is to work as a team with patients to improve their quality of life while avoiding treatment approaches that cause more harm than good.

After earning his medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California. Dr. Hartinger completed a family medicine internship and residency with Family Medicine of Southwest Washington in Vancouver. Dr. Hartinger was born and raised in the Portland-Vancouver area.

In his free time, he volunteers with local high school and college athletics and also enjoys golfing, hiking, gardening and spending time with his wife and two children.

Everyone in this office is very helpful.

I am a fairly new patient of Dr Hartinger's. I feel like we kind got off on the wrong foot. We have different ideas about how to maintain optimal health, as I am vegan and he is not. I have to say this was the best visit I've had with him. [...] We believe he is a good doctor at heart. We now agree to disagree. We listen to him, and as long as he listens and respects our opinion about what medicines go into our bodies we will continue to be his patients. I think he realizes we are NOT his normal patient, we have strong opinions and will voice them but we will also listen and value his advice until it goes against our beliefs. I must say, he does have good reviews online :)

this is an excellent clinic - every person is courteous, professional and kind.

The staff is warm and friendly and always helpful.

very good

always excellent care

very reassuring on my health concerns

The front desk staff, medical assistants, and doctor are all very friendly, considerate and knowledgeable.

This was my first visit and I liked the treatment I received and wil continue with him.

Impressed in a very positive manner with all aspects of our visit.

First Visit : We appreciated the doctor's detailed attention to medical records and medical issues; and recommended treatment and referrals.

V. thorough and proactive, and provided good information to help w decision-making re medications.

Very impressed with everyone... clerks, Medical Assistants, and especially the doctor.

l have good provider.

Dr. was highly recommended & I agree he is great.

Does not prescribe critical medicines. Has a backward view and poor understanding of opiates. Said things that did not make sense and showed ignorance.

recommended friends to see this doctor and clinic

Dr. Hartinger is very throulgh

Everyone was professional, courteous and helpful.

This was my first visit to a new doctor after moving from Beaverton to Vancouver. I was very pleased with this initial visit and look forward to getting to know the doctor and staff more in the future.

he was very polite very caring about my situation took his time to make sure that he prescribe the correct medications to help me get better I would recommend any of the doctors at this Clinic two friends and family

The doctor listened to my comments and concerns and advised me of recommended treatments and he followed up by ordering the new prescriptions that I need. I'm totally satisfied with my visit with Dr. Hartinger.

Dr. Hartinger was easy to understand, likeable, considerate, used a scribe over face time which I thought was productive, assessed my situation well and prescribed a drug which took care of my issue. He seemed confident and was polite. I would have no problem seeing him again if the situation arises.

Dr. Hartinger gave me individual attention, calling me personally to discuss the results of my MRI and discussing options, including who could/should administer a cortisone shot. His personalized attention and service were very much appreciated.

it was my first visit ever and waited over 20 minutes to be seen by Dr.

Very caring; showed concern for my needs.

I have excellent respect with the complete team of providers.

Overall I like my Dr and the staff very much. What I do not like at this office is the requirement of bring the same insurance card into every visit. Things do not change for us and it a inconvenience. I also VERY much dislike you printing my health records out that show my medication list and giving it to me in the waiting area; my records feel like they are in display. I also do not need my entire medical history list for a foot sprain follow up etc. This is such not the feeling of good practices of PHI or making a patient feel like an individual. If I left this office, tgesexwoukd be the reason. It makes for a very poor welcoming each and every time despite the great staff. Sometimes my doctor gets a bit too concerned over minor things or forgets the cost of care that is not covered with insurance, but overall he is a very kind and competent physician.

After the blood test, the provider commented on one of my two issues, the fact that my cholesterol had improved. The blood test results were posted to mychart. I noticed that my throid reading, my other issue, was off the scale. I sent a message commenting on that. The assistant got back to me and told me she had changed my thyroxine dose and reordered for me. I presume that if I hadn't asked, that would have been left wrong.

I found the medical staff and office workers very friendly and professional, a lot better than the other office I used to visit here in Vancouver on mill plain

Dr. Jon makes me feel like I'm his only patient.

Always a pleasant experience.

I notice that when I message Dr Hartinger it often takes him 3+ days to respond to my MyChart messages. I get very anxious about this.

had to find new Dr as Dr. [...] is retiring. I am going to be very happy with Dr. Hartinger.

excellent care.

Dr. Hartinger is a very good family doctor. He listens, explains and follow-ups closely. I am lucky to have him as my family's doctor

He is an inflexible textbook who did not care to explore my concerns. my way or the highway, I chose the highway. needs to works on "bedside manner" and not come across so closed, [...]. I waited months to see a Dr for my new PCP, I had many concerns, we got stuck on one or two issues. Also said would refer me to gynecologist to manage my HET and my ENT would manage my frequent sinus infections, which he inferred he would not treat. Never had a PCP pass on those main care items to specialists before. After needing help on other issues, waiting so long to get some direction, I left very disappointed, upset, in tears.

great doctor and staff.

Great great provider. Smart kind and compassionate care! The ideal provider!

first visit and referral. all has gone smoothly and with great concern for my needs

I have been seeing Dr Hartinger for over two years now, and I am very happy with the doctor and the clinic.

my dr. put me at ease and was very professional

Always a pleasure to see them!

I have been coming to him for over two years about chronic all over pain and extreme fatigue since the removal of my thyroid. I had him fill out paperwork for me for the half time leave I'm taking this year bc of pain and exhaustion I feel. He puts down his diagnoses that I'm depressed and have sleep apnea and I have never come in there to see him for either of those things. He told me on my last visit that he would like me to see a psychiatrist and pushing antidepressants. I left feeling that he thinks this pain is in my head and not teal simply bc he can find no real cause or reason for my pain.I have been told by 3 other healthcare people that my adrenals are shot and I run cortisol at very high levels. I keep begging him to look at the rapid decline of my health since my thyroidectomy and refer me to someone who can address my adrenals and out of whack hormones. He told me that his practice of medicine doesn't acknowledge that side of medicine and treatment. He therefore has decided that I'm depressed so that's why I must ache all over and I have sleep apnea(which I don't) so that is why I'm tired.after two months of testing me out on a CPap machine, I do not feel any more rested and the machine isn't registering me even in a mild need for it. considering he isn't viewing my digital results of my nights' rest, I find it disturbing that he would even put that down as his diagnosis when the sleep center experts haven't even concluded that. I even told him that I wake up more in the night bc of the CPap and it's not helping, nor are the antidepressants. He just wanted to change my prescription to anther one and have me start seeing a psychiatrist. I have decided that this is not the doctor for me- when you can clearly look at my chart and see the reason for my visits and he has not addressed one. wow, that is depressing!!!I have told the manager of that clinic I no longer feel comfortable having him as my primary care doctor and that I felt even more disregarded when I called to question his diagnoses on my leave papers, that he never called me himself, but rather had his nurse and the manager try to answer my concerns. I will no longer be seeing him bc I don't feel he is really listening to me bc he can't find a reason for my pain and fatigue. thank goodness other doctors outside of Dousedaicon have given me reprieve from many of the symptoms I have sought to seek help from Dr. Hartinger. Not one of his prescriptions or care advice has helped me at all after over 2 years!

Dr was very good.

He is the best provider I ever have and I recommend him every time I can.
