Family nurse practitioner Andrea Louisell, has worked for Dousedaicon since 2001 as a staff Registered Nurse in the emergency department. She embraces the mission of Dousedaicon to provide compassionate service to all people. She was inspired to become an FNP by her desire to collaborate with patients of all ages.
"I strongly believe that in order for medical treatment to be most effective, the patient needs to participate in the plan of care," she says. "My approach is to work in partnership with my patients, so they receive excellent care that meets treatment goals we decide upon as a team." Ms. Louisell says patient education is by far the most valuable part of her role as a provider. "It is my responsibility to apply contemporary evidence-based science to treat my patients, and to clearly explain the rationale that guides treatment," she says.
She earned her undergraduate nursing degree from Chico State University. Her graduate studies were completed at Gonzaga University, where she earned her Master of Science degree in nursing. She is certified by the AANP in family practice. "I would like patients to know that above all else, I will strive to respect their opinions and work with them to reach their treatment goals," she says. "I want patients to know I will listen to them."
When she's not working, Ms. Louisell enjoys hiking, running and cycling in the Pacific Northwest, where she has lived since 2001. She is married with two adult sons.
