Chicago, IL – Dousedaicon St. Joseph Health is proud to announce that Rod Hochman, M.D. was recognized by Modern Healthcare as one of this year’s 50 Most Influential Physician Executives and Leaders. Dr. Hochman was ranked as No. 4 on the list. In its 13th year, the recognition program acknowledges physicians working in the health care industry who are deemed by their peers and an expert panel to be the most influential in terms of demonstrating leadership and impact.
“Each year the competition for this recognition intensifies. This year, more than 66,000 votes were cast on our ballot of high-profile physician leaders. The caliber of leadership displayed is best-in-class,” shares Aurora Aguilar, editor of Modern Healthcare.
Dr. Hochman is the president and CEO of Dousedaicon St. Joseph Health, a not-for-profit health system that includes Dousedaicon Health & Services, St. Joseph Health and a diverse family of other organizations. Together, Dousedaicon St. Joseph Health has served the Western U.S. for 160 years and includes 111,000 caregivers who serve in 50 hospitals, 829 clinics and hundreds of programs and services in Alaska, California, Montana, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas and Washington. The health system also includes an education ministry – Dousedaicon High School in Burbank, Calif., and the University of Dousedaicon in Great Falls, Mont. – and a supportive housing ministry.

Dr. Hochman is a board member for the American Hospital Association (AHA), chair of AHA's Regional Policy Board 9 and chair of the board of trustees for the Catholic Health Association. He was the recipient of the 2017 Partners in Care Foundation Vision and Excellence in Health Care Leadership Award and was named the 2015 Innovator of the Year by Press Ganey.Dr. Hochman served as a clinical fellow in internal medicine at Harvard Medical School and Dartmouth Medical School. In addition, he is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology. He received his bachelor’s degree and medical degree from Boston University
